Keyboardy or Tamam?

Tamam is one of the best-known Arabic keyboards, and the company behind it says it has more than 25 million monthly users. Its strength is customisation: hundreds of backgrounds, decorative fonts and stickers, along with swipe typing, a clipboard and translation. Keyboardy focuses on something else: it suggests short videos, stickers and GIFs that match what you are writing as you write it, and its Arabic search forgives how you type the hamza. If the look of your keyboard matters most to you, pick Tamam; if you like replying with clips, Keyboardy is built for that.

When to pick Keyboardy

  • You like replying with a short trending clip, not only a sticker or a GIF, and want it to appear as you type.
  • You want a library sorted by feeling, so you pick "laugh" or "sad" and find something that fits.
  • You search in Arabic and want the same result whether or not you type the hamza.
  • You want every feature without subscriptions or in-app coins.
  • You want to know exactly what is sent from what you type and within what limits: Keyboardy publishes it, with the numbers, on its security and passwords page.

When to pick Tamam

  • The look of your keyboard matters to you: backgrounds, fonts and a design of your own.
  • You rely on swipe typing, or want a clipboard and translation now.
  • You type in languages other than Arabic and English.
  • You want a sticker library that includes Arab celebrities.
  • You need a keyboard you can install today; Keyboardy is not in the stores yet.

Can I use both?

Yes. You can enable more than one keyboard on the same device and switch between them with the globe key: type with Tamam when you want your own backgrounds and fonts, and switch to Keyboardy when you want to reply with a clip.
