Keyboardy or SwiftKey?

Microsoft's SwiftKey is a general keyboard that supports more than 700 languages on Android and 600 on iPhone, lets you enable several at once, and comes with swipe typing, a clipboard and a translator. Keyboardy sticks to Arabic and English, but it is built for Arabic first and suggests short videos, stickers and GIFs that match what you are writing. If you move between many languages, pick SwiftKey; if your conversations are in Arabic and you like replying with clips, Keyboardy is built for that.

When to pick Keyboardy

  • Your conversations are mostly in Arabic, and you want a keyboard built for Arabic rather than one that added it.
  • You like replying with a short clip or a sticker, and want it to appear above the keys as you type, without searching.
  • You search in Arabic and want the same result whether or not you type the hamza.
  • You want to know exactly what is sent from what you type: Keyboardy publishes it, with the numbers, on its security and passwords page.

When to pick SwiftKey

  • You type in many languages and want to move between them without switching keyboards.
  • You rely on swipe typing.
  • You want a clipboard and a translator in the keyboard now, not in an upcoming update.
  • You need a keyboard you can install today; Keyboardy is not in the stores yet.

Can I use both?

Yes. You can enable more than one keyboard on the same device and switch between them with the globe key: use SwiftKey when you are writing in other languages, and switch to Keyboardy when you want to reply with a clip or a sticker.
