Copyright takedown notice

Fill in the elements the law requires, and attach a screenshot or clip if you have one. We review the notice and remove the material if the notice is valid.

Read the full copyright policy
  1. Identify yourself

Your name and email, and whether you are the rights owner or an agent acting for one.

  2. Identify the work and the material

What you hold copyright in, and where the infringing material appears inside Keyboardy.

  3. Declare and sign

Three statements the law requires, then your full legal name as a signature.

Before you send

A notice sent wrongly has a real legal cost. Reading this saves your time and ours.

  • Under §512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing makes you liable for damages, costs and attorneys’ fees.
  • Some uses are permitted without permission — criticism, commentary and parody among them. Weigh that before sending.
  • If the uploader disputes the removal, we forward them a copy of your notice, including the details you give here.
  • If your objection is something else — a privacy concern, or offensive content — use the content report page, not this form.

The form needs JavaScript

The report form runs on JavaScript. Enable it and reload the page, or email your notice to the designated agent named in the copyright policy — a notice by email has exactly the same effect, as long as it contains the required elements.

Your details

The law requires information sufficient to contact you. An email address is the minimum.

The rights owner, or the agent acting on their behalf.

We use it to reach you about this notice.

If you are filing on behalf of an organisation.

§512(c)(3)(A)(iv) lists an address among your contact details; it is optional here so a notice is never blocked on it.

In case we need to reach you quickly.

Your role

A notice can only be filed by the owner of the exclusive right, or by someone authorised to act for them.

The copyrighted work

What do you hold copyright in? Where several works are involved, a representative description of them is enough.

A link showing the work as you publish it — this shortens review considerably.

The infringing material

Enough for us to find it: the section or category, the search term it appears under, and a description of what it shows.

If an ID is visible to you, it is the most precise way to identify the material.

Evidence (optional)

One file. PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF images, or MP4, WebM or MOV video. Maximum 25 MB.

Required statements

All three statements are required by law; the notice cannot be sent without them.

Signature

Typing your full name here is an electronic signature and has the same effect as signing by hand.
